A Glycolic Peel is a deep cleaning of your pores to help prevent acne and exfoliate the skin. A Glycolic Peel involves an application of Neostrata Glycolic Acid to the skin. The acid is left on the face for minimal seconds and is then sprayed with a neutralizing solution. Glycolic Acid has the smallest molecular structure of any Alpha Hydroxy Acid allowing it to penetrate the skin more effectively. This process will help to remove wrinkles, sun spots, fade uneven facial pigmentation, it is great for “deep cleaning” the pores, and improving the overall look and feel of the skin. There is no downtime associated with a Glycolic Peel. The Obagi Blue Peel is an in-office procedure designed to significantly improve the appearance and health of your skin. Using a low concentration of the chemical trichloroacetic acid (TCA) mixed with a special blue base, the Blue Peel allows the doctor to monitor the appropriate depth to effectively remove the thin surface layers of aged and damaged skin from the face or other parts of the body. These dead skin cells are replaced by healthier ones, allowing the skin's own clarity and tightness to resurface. The procedure is performed by Dr. Shek, who has specialized training and experience with this highly effective peel.
The Obagi Blue Peel along with Obagi Nu-Derm products may correct and stimulate all nine key problems of damaged skin.

The Blue Peel allows the doctor to control the depth of the peel and the number of coats applied in order to tailor the process to your skin's specific needs. The Obagi Blue Peel can even be performed on the neck, chest, hands, back, arms and legs. The Blue Peel is a quick, and highly tolerable procedure that does not require sedation.
During the procedure you will experience a mild burning sensation that lasts two to three minutes. Immediately after the procedure, a bluish tint remains on your skin, which will usually wash off in 2 to 3 days.
